At Sister Schools, we believe in the power of connection, not just between students across the globe, but within our own community. That’s why we’re thrilled to launch our new internship program, welcoming passionate college students into hands-on roles across programs, grants, events, and marketing.
This initiative is a win-win for both our program and our interns. We are cultivating the next generation of nonprofit leaders while expanding our own capacity to better serve elementary school students locally and globally. By partnering with bright, driven young people, we’re able to grow our impact while helping interns build meaningful skills that will shape their future careers.
Meet our Very First Interns!
We’re excited to introduce the first cohort of Sister Schools interns, each bringing unique talents, perspectives, and energy to our team.

Claire Lutz, also joined us this spring and will continue through the summer as our grants intern. She is a University of Washington student studying Aquatic Conservation. With a love for travel and learning about diverse cultures, Claire joined Sister Schools to deepen her understanding of nonprofit work while developing practical skills, including grant writing and grant research. Through her academic and extracurricular pursuits, she is building a strong foundation for a future centered on environmental stewardship and community impact.

Stephanie Wu joined us this spring and will continue her internship through the summer. An undergraduate student at the University of Washington planning to study psychology, she contributes through video editing and creative storytelling. Stephanie is passionate about using media to connect people and share meaningful stories. Outside of her work, she enjoys water color painting and exploring local coffee shops.

Julie Kim is also an undergraduate student at the University of Washington majoring in philosophy. She will join us this summer as a program intern. Driven by curiosity, research, and critical thinking, Julie is deeply committed to addressing social issues and expanding access to opportunity. She has supported organizations raising aid for Ukraine and brings a strong passion for nonprofit work. At Sister Schools, Julie is excited to help secure supplies and funding for students in Uganda while fostering meaningful cross-cultural connections for students in the U.S.

Sophie Dickert will be joining us this summer as our Digital Marketing and Events intern. Her journey with Sister Schools began years ago—as a first-grade student participating in a school supply drive. Eight years later, she joined a 2019 literacy trip, where she witnessed the impact of our work firsthand. Now a junior at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, majoring in Communication Studies and minoring in Entrepreneurship, Sophie is eager to give back to the organization that helped shape her perspective and to contribute her skills to our growing team.
This internship program represents an exciting step forward for Sister Schools. With the support of these talented interns, we’re expanding our reach, strengthening our programs, and continuing to create meaningful connections between students across cultures.
We’re proud to invest in these emerging leaders and can’t wait to see the impact they’ll make, both within our organization and far beyond it.
Our upcoming Fall internship positions will be posted this summer. Please email us at info@sisterschools.org if you would like to be notified.
