2025 Sister Schools Impact Report

A Year of Connection and Change 

Because of you, thousands of children are learning, growing, and dreaming bigger. In 2025, Sister Schools continued to bridge classrooms and hearts across continents. Together with our supporters and school communities, we expanded our reach, strengthened our programs, and empowered both Ugandan and American students to see the difference they can make in the world. 

Growing Our School Community 

This year, we proudly welcomed three new U.S. partner schools into the Sister Schools family: 

• Bennett Elementary 

• Cathcart Elementary 

• Jing Mei Elementary 

  
  

That’s more than 1,400 new students engaging in cross-cultural learning, building empathy, and connecting with peers in Uganda. 

School Supplies That Spark Opportunity 

Thousands of pounds of school supplies, including pencils, notebooks, backpacks, art materials and more, were collected through Sister Schools drives this year. These donations are now on their way to our partner schools in Uganda, where access to basic learning materials can be life-changing. 

For our friends in Uganda, these tools open the door to creativity, confidence, and possibility. 

Strengthening Literacy in Uganda 

Beyond supplies, Sister Schools continues to support literacy programs that help students build English reading and writing skills. We are so excited to hear reports from our teachers of increased independent reading, and a renewed excitement for learning. These are signs of long-term impact that reaches far beyond the classroom. 

The Ripple Effect at Home 

The impact doesn’t stop overseas. In classrooms across the Seattle area, students are learning that empathy and generosity are powerful actions. 

These lessons in kindness and global citizenship are shaping students into thoughtful, engaged community members. 

Building a Strong Future Together 

Despite challenges facing nonprofits worldwide including rising costs and shifts in large-scale funding, Sister Schools remains fiscally strong and forward-focused. Thanks to a successful annual auction, growing sponsorships, and expanded grant support, we are well-positioned to continue our mission for years to come.
