The day we’d all been waiting for finally arrived—our latest shipment of school supplies from our amazing student donors in Seattle landed safely in Kampala! Now, the real magic begins as Asia, our dedicated Uganda Program Director, starts distributing these much-needed materials to our partner schools.

Distribution days are among the most joyful and unforgettable moments on the Sister Schools calendar. Entire school communities come alive with energy—students cheering, teachers dancing, and everyone celebrating as delivery vans roll in with boxes full of promise.

Yusuf, a teacher at Kibiribiri Primary School, shared the impact these supplies have had:  “Before 2015, the level of literacy was very low. But since then, they started accessing supplies from Sister Schools, and their level of literacy greatly improved.”

These deliveries are more than just crayons and notebooks—they’re tools for transformation. Supplies are distributed to both individual students and to the schools, ensuring that every child and every classroom is equipped to support learning and growth.

For the youngest learners, the highlight is often the crayons. The vibrant colors bring their worksheets to life, and their wide smiles say it all—these are more than just art supplies; they’re symbols of creativity, joy, and possibility.

For older students, the real treasure is books. Sister Schools has stocked the libraries of 5 partner schools, providing access to stories that spark imagination and resources that strengthen English reading skills. Every new book is a doorway to discovery.

Thanks to our community of generous donors, these children have the tools they need to dream bigger and reach higher.
