Welcome New Board Members

Sister Schools is very excited to welcome two new board members to our team! Gulsheen Kaur and Rick Brandon will both be incredible assets to our work. Please take a moment to read their bios and get to know them now! 


Rick Brandon 

Richard N. Brandon, Ph.D is an expert in public policy and finance, specializing in education, health and family services. He founded the Human Services Policy Center (HSPC) at the University of Washington and led HSPC’s signature efforts in collaborative human services and inter-professional education as well as financing of public education and childcare. He also founded the Washington Kids Count project. He led several national projects with regard to Early Care and Education and led a project for UNICEF in Bosnia and Herzegovina improving budgeting for children’s services. Before joining the University of Washington in 1989, Dr. Brandon served as staff director of the U.S. Senate Budget Committee, where he played a major role in developing the congressional budget process and negotiating the federal budget. Prior to that, he directed systems analysis and budgeting for the New York City Department of Mental Health. He has been a consultant to many public and private non-profit organizations and served on expert committees for the National Academy of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine.   

 

 

Gulsheen Kaur 

Gulsheen Kaur is a seasoned leader managing complex global enterprise initiatives focusing on privacy, operations, and strategy across top technology corporations such as Amazon and Meta. She is adept at strategic planning, program management, governance expertise and is recognized for galvanizing global stakeholders and fostering partnerships towards the organization's mission. She holds an Executive Master of Business Administration from the Michigan State University – Eli Broad College. Gulsheen cherishes spending time with family and friends and exploring the world.
